One of our most beloved icons, this image of the Holy Family is painted in the Byzantine style. Mary and Joseph are shown wearing their traditional colors, blue and green. Jesus is presented in the Eastern style but with an image of the Sacred Heart — a Western devotion focused on Christ's suffering out of love for fallen humanity — and holds a scroll symbolizing the Word of God. The original icon is located at Sacred Heart Church in Rancho Cucamonga, measuring five feet on each side with a background embossed and covered in 24k gold.
