Our Lady of Guadalupe 2 Icon Print

Our Lady of Guadalupe ready to frame print. Professionally printed and ready to frame for your church or home.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is well-known for appearing to St. Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico. The first apparition happened on December 9th, 1531, when she told St. Juan Diego to build a chapel in her honor. Juan Diego went to talk to the Archbishop of Mexico City, telling him about the vision. The archbishop would not listen to Juan Diego until December 12th, when Juan brought him golden roses arranged in his tilma by Our Lady. When Juan opened his tilma to show the archbishop the roses, a miraculous image of Our Lady wearing a blue robe decorated with stars had appeared.

December 12th is Our Lady of Guadalupe’s feast day, and St. Juan Diego’s tilma with the miraculous image is displayed in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This image is one of a group of eight commissioned for the Duke University Newman Center. The priest sponsoring this project wanted to feature the Marian apparitions which were most important to students from different countries around the world. Students from many countries were interviewed to select these eight apparitions of Our Lady. Together, the display is called Our Lady of The World, and the many ways that Our Lady has appeared to us remind us of her universal motherhood to all believers.

The eight images are: Our Lady of Aparecida, Our Lady of Czestochowa, Our Lady of Lavang, Our Lady of Manaoag, Our Lady of Kibeho, Our Lady of Vilankanni, Our lady of Lourdes, and Our Lady of Guadalupe.  AMDG!
